Profile

Peter Hanly鈥檚 principal research interests lie at the intersection of art, literature and philosophy, in particular in relation to the Romantic period. He is the author of 鈥淏etween Heidegger and Novalis鈥� (Northwestern University Press, 2021), as well as of articles on Hegel, Kant, Heidegger, Nancy and, most recently, Reiner Sch眉rmann. He is the translator of Heidegger鈥檚 鈥淥n Inception鈥澛�(Indiana University Press, 2023), as well as of essays by Nancy, Werner Hamacher and others. He is currently working on a study of the French Surrealist poet Jo毛 Bousquet, and a translation of Nikolaus Lenau鈥檚 鈥淔aust.鈥澛燩rior to coming to md传媒国产剧 College, he enjoyed an extensive career as a concert violinist, performing throughout New England.
